We believe that if Galloway was made a National Park then some of these worries, we all share could be helped. A National Park is not a cure-all but it would give local people the power to make a difference and will create new highly skilled jobs.
National Parks look after the environment and support the local communities by encouraging the sustainable use of our resources
COP26 will put Scotland in a spotlight because one of the targets that countries have signed up to is to protect 30% of the land for nature. Scotland lags behind England with only 22.7%. If we are to play our part in the worldwide effort to combat climate change then we need to get not one but two more National Parks in Scotland.
